ATTICA. Athens. Circa 430s-420s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.23 g, 7 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Kroll 8. Svoronos, Monnaies, pls. 12-13 passim. Beautifully toned and very well centered, a lovely example. Nearly extremely fine.

From the Kleinkunst Collection, ex Gorny & Mosch 224, 13 October 2014, 200 and previously acquired from Münzkabinett Funk, Neukeferloh, in the 1990s.
